The new office of the ZLTO (the Southern Dutch Agriculture and Horticulture Organisation) in Den Bosch makes sustainability a top priority. The office conserves water, electricity and heat. Relaxing, working, conferencing, brainstorming. It also has a roof terrace with intensive vegetation.
The roof garden is situated on the roof of the partially underground parking garage of the ZLTO office. At 1550 m², the building has plenty of room for working, receiving guests and brainstorming.
The roof terrace is multifunctional, adapted to the 'new way of working' in which employees no longer have a fixed workplace but instead are able to work remotely wherever they happen to be. Drawing the design involved much more than an ordinary garden plan. Consideration had to be given to maximum roof loads and the limited amount of space for the plants' roots.
